The birth if a baby brings in lots of changes in the body and in life as well and the emotions at this stage are overwhelming. This is when baby blues occur, also known as postpartum depression that can be difficult to cope up with. Characterized by anxiousness, nervousness, a sense of loss, sadness, stress, and impatience, baby blues are very common in new mothers today.
In order to survive baby blues, it is important to understand the condition. Whilst for most mothers it is usually a brief period, some mothers can face a very tough time dealing with their emotions.
A few tips to survive baby blues:
- Give yourself adequate time. Try to understand yourself, your emotions and the negative feelings lingering on your mid. What makes you sad and how you can eliminate that – understand these things. If you are unable to do it on your own, ask your spouse to help you.
- Spend quality time with the baby. Try to remember how eagerly you have waited for this day.
- Take rest and enjoy the newly acquired status.
- Pamper yourself as you always did. Motherhood has just added a new role to your life; it has not taken away the charm of living.
- Eat well.
