Are depression and anxiety absolutely different from each other?

Normally, the symptoms of anxiety are more similar to the symptoms of depression. Even there is some common opinion that they are the same type fear-emotions, which simply noticed in a different way in different people. But in reality, anxiety is a different disorder with different causatives which cause severe anxiety attacks.

Actually, anxiety is an illness which is caused due to certain kinds of phobias that affect the patient’s mind very badly. On the other hand, depression is disorder which is linked with the shortage of certain chemicals, such as serotonin in the body. Anxiety cannot be treated with only medications; it needs treatments that can modify patient’s mind and their behavior. To treat the patients with anxiety, you have to train their mind to overcome the symptoms of anxiety, by doing this the patients can change their thinking, thoughts and phobias. Depression is highly treatable with medications.

Sometimes, the symptoms of anxiety are mistakenly referred as depression, for example, the chronic worry is actually emotion of fear, fear about the future, health, dying are not due to depression, but this can result in depression because of long drawn-out stress. So, the above mentioned points may clearly explain that anxiety is different from depression.
