Nardil General Information

Nardil is a medication that is prescribed for depression and other depressive disorders and is an antidepressant that has been clinically proven to be effective in the treatment of depression, anxiety and other disorders. This is a medication that is prescribed only after a thorough examination and a medical history of existing medical conditions, prior to prescribing this antidepressant.

Nardil is not always the first antidepressant used by the prescribing doctor, it is often an antidepressant that is used when other types of antidepressant medications fail that are more commonly prescribed for depression. This antidepressant has had good results in clinical testing of patients with depressive disorders that did not respond to the more common antidepressants.

In early treatment of depression with the use of Nardil the dosage is normally 15 mg three times a day and will be increased if needed to 60 mg a day after the body becomes used to the antidepressant. In some cases the dosage can increase to 90 mg a day to obtain the significant amounts of MAO inhibitors in the body to combat the depressive disorder.

There are many people that are prescribed Nardil that do not respond to the treatment for approximately four weeks. This antidepressant contains phenelzine sulfate, which is equal to 15 mg of phenelzine base.
