Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: Can It Be Linked with Depression?

The Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a disorder of the mind that brings disturbing thoughts in to the mind. As a result, the person gets anxious. The obsessions (intrusive thoughts) lead the person to develop a different kind of behavior that is known as compulsion. These repeated compulsions make the patient to be depressed. Depression is a disorder of the mind that puts the patient into the state of sadness.

This is generally caused when something undesirable happens with someone. The obsessive Compulsive Disorder affects the daily life of the patients. They may not be able to fulfill most of their desires because of their own intrusive thoughts as well as compulsive behaviors. As a result they are pulled in to the state of chronic sadness that is termed as depression. However, Obsessive Compulsive disorder is not as common as depression.

It mostly affects the people of the age group eighteen to fifty five. Depression can affect the people of any age. However, eighty percent of the total reported patients of depression have been cured by some or the other method. In order to cure the depression induced by Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, one has to be cured of the OCD first. If the person is able to fulfill his or her desire without any irritation, then the depression will automatically be ruled out.
