Depression is a psychological disorder which is most commonly seen in teenagers and in elderly people. It can affect the normal routine life of an individual as the patient feels they are secluded from their family and the surrounding. It also makes the individual feel very lonely and disturbed leading to other psychological problem.
Depression affects the stimulation of release of neurotransmitters and hence the transmission of signal from the brain to the other part of the body through the nervous system is mainly affected. Because of this, the coordination of the nervous system with accordance to the brain signal is partially or completely lost and result in nervous system based disorders.
It also leads to other physical ailments like head ache, stomach upset, sleep disorder. The heart rhythm of the person changes and it also causes palpitation, shivering, constipation; the patients with depression often lose the emotional balance which will in turn lead to other major psychiatric complication. They are often seen with inferior complex and low self-esteemed individual.
Depression usually paves way for the other major disease to add up to the system and it can also make other treatment ineffective in case the patient is affected with multiple diseases. |
