How to Take Nardil

Nardil is an antidepressant that is a prescription medication for the treatment of manic depression and other depression disorders. Normally the physician will start this medication at a low level several times a day. It is not unusual for the physician to prescribe beginning dosages at 15 mg three times a day until the body is used to the medication.

After the beginning dosages the physician will increase Nardil to a steady dosage of up to 60 mg per day and if this dosage does not treat the depression symptoms the dosage can be raised as high as 90 mg per day. The use of Nardil during the beginning phase of use will be closely monitored by the physician to adjust it to the proper dosage.

Nardil is used after other more common antidepressants fail and has been clinically proven to be effective in fighting the symptoms of depression in these types of patients. It can take as long as four weeks to see complete results of the antidepressant and there can be some side effects with its use.

In most cases the side effects will decrease within the first four weeks of its use and in some cases the side effects can be severe and Nardil might not be a useable antidepressant for the patient.
