Pamelor is obtained in two forms in capsule form and also in oral liquid form; this drug can be taken up to four times a day according to the doctor’s prescription. This antidepressant can be taken up to 75-100mg per day or a maximum up to 150mg per day by adults with or without taking food, do not take over the dosage amount or take a smaller dose than prescribed. The doses have to be taken at same interval of time.
Always take the dosage as prescribed by the doctor, do not stop the dosage without consulting the doctor even if you feel well, because you may experience some problems like headache, weakness and nausea. If you feel such symptoms then consult the doctor immediately he may reduce the amount of your dosage, this drug should not be taken in association with alcohol, because it can cause drowsiness.
Before using this drug the patient has to inform the physician of his previous medical reports what drugs he is using and what surgeries the patient has under gone. This gives a clear idea to the doctor at what time and how high of a dosage should be prescribed to the patient. Because taking pamelor associated with other drugs like MAO, Marplan, Parnate or any other drug may cause additional side effects; this drug has to be stored at cool place at room temperature away from sunlight.
