Learning about the types of depression

There are mainly three major types of depression such as atypical, psychotic and manic which are three of the most popular forms. Here the article will discuss about the different types-
Manic depression, which is also referred to as bipolar disease is a form of depression that involves alternating mood swings that ranges from a high point that is called mania to the lowest point called depression. The reason why manic depression is also referred to as bipolar disease is because of the mood swings that changes from the high pole all the way to the low pole

Unipolar depression is a form of depression that is more severe and is also referred to as clinical depression. It also goes by the term major-depression disorder and is a form of depression with severe and disabling effects. Depression in general affects more women than men. Unipolar depression causes a person to loose interest  in many activities and he/she will also feel unhappy most of the times. In addition, this form of depression also affects normal activities such as sleeping and eating and is a chronic disease that recurs at least once in a person’s life.

Atypical depression is the most common form of depression today and people who suffer this form of depression will show all the normal symptoms of depression. The only thing that makes atypical depression to be different from the other forms of depression is that a sufferer reacts positively when they are faced with positive situations.

  • Atypical depression - Atypical depression happens to be the most commonly affection subtype of depression today. It is commonly seen in women than in men, and it onsets at the early stages of life, such as teenage.

  • Bipolar depression - Mood swings ranging from euphoria to irritability to depression are commonly seen in patients with bipolar disorder. The disease can have different levels of intensity depending on the severity of the condition,

  • Unipolar depression - Unipolar depression can be treated with a combination of positive changes. Bringing in positive changes to the lifestyle habits, medications, regular counseling and therapy can help in relieving the condition.

  • Clinical Depression - This condition will prevent the person from being comfortable doing things that they normally would, but there might be the feeling of hopelessness or feeling sad, along with other symptoms.
